Hi, I’m in highschool and currently directing a small movie project. I have a small budget of about $2000. My main question is what kind of camcorder and editing software will I need to make my movie have the look of an actual movie and not some cheap home made film?
I know that some small HD camcorders go for as little as $400, but I wonder if those truely yield as high quality as, say, a $2000 full size one.
I know I prefer seeing film grain to pixelation aesthetically, but is low quality video still a long cry away from low quality film? I am talking about consumer grade cameras that are somewhere around 1 megapixel, not HD professional video…
Why would I use a professional, powered adapter interface that is atleast $200 (like Beachtek DXA2S) instead of a simple $20 1/8″ male plug to XLR female plug? The setup is for a Sony prosumer camcorder that is picking up one entry level professional shotgun mic (~$400).
