How Do You Create A Professional Quality Video For Youtube? Tips, Hints, Suggestions On Filming Techniques?

I need to create a short promotional video, its going to essentially be an interview at a desk/office setting. I need some tips on making the video look as professional as possible. To start, I’ll be using a handheld HD camcorder mounted on a tripod. I’m just looking for any tips or suggestions on everything from lighting, to staging, to editing. Thank you!

Proffesional quality videos are based mainly on camera angles, quality of the camera, quality of the storyline, and editing.
Camera Angles: It’s boring if you just have the same angle the entire times. Do different cuts of the scene. Yes you would have to redo the entire scene several times but it will be worth it in the end.
Quality of the Camera: Camera’s with great quality cost alot now adays…you can get high definition cameras pretty cheaply, but they won’t have as good of quality as the pro cameras. I got mine for $200 and it has a very good picture.
Quality of the storyline: is basic, Just a good video will work out, something that will catch the attention of the viewers.
Editing is just a small part: Make sure the video fits into each other. If something doesn’t seem right then refilm it. Use background music in title and the credits. That will always set the mood for the video, but make sure it pertains to the video…you don’t want a song about love playing before a video about war.
Now the things you talk about.
Lighting: if you are using a green screen u want lighting on the front and back to be the same so u don’t have any shadows. I
Lighting: if you are using lighting in a dark area, then you need to keep the area dark, but make sure the audience can see your subject. If you are having and issue seeing his face then you should adjust the lighting in front…but make sure there is a shadow on one side, that would give the effect of it being night. make sure the darker side is still a bit visible.
Lighting is a major part of the video so dont make it too bright but dont make it too dark
staging…make sure wherever you are filming, that you have enough space to get your subject into the camera. People tend to get only a person’s feet in skateboarding videos. it’s pretty annoying.
    You were talkign

Import your video(s) to windows movie maker (for editing and all that good stuff), save it, then click “publish” on the right hand corner and it will turn it into a WMV file both creating good qaulity and compatable with youtube. These videos can be viewed on Windows Media Player. Or you can get a Partner account and upload on the HD uploader.

To get it in good quality on youtube, you should be a partner. Then you can upload HD videos. Otherwise, its just HQ.
