I need to know if they are Still good camcorders, with TECHNOLOGY changing so quickly and all.
Any idea what a used one would be worth, including the charger and all?
Any information would be help full. They are supposedly Professional grade units, whats your informed opinion?

I was wondering how MiniDV camcorders work when it comes to transferring footage to PC.. how long does it take? does it transfer a lot faster then the play time? Iike how long does it take per minute does it run the tape in like a FF to transfer or what? Also.. how do the clips go in does it separate each clip into it’s own file somehow or is it all one big video so u have to cut all the videos on the computer or what? I’ve only used SD and HDD I’ve never used MiniDV so Idk how they work.. I was looking at professional camcorders but they’re all MiniDV! like the Canon XH-A1 HD & Canon XL2.. how do they do it? I would think they’d all want hard disk and what would be the advantage of using tapes? plz help thx!

I don’t know hardly anything about professional camcorders. I have a amateur consumer SD harddrive Sony camcorder right now. I am looking into getting a professional HD cam. I am not sure what the differences are between the consumer and the pro? I don’t know what features I would need and wouldn’t want to be sorry after buying? Or what is the best cam or for the best price? Can you help me out just telling me about these cams and what is important to know and which is best and all the detailed insightful information I can get would be VERY helpful THANKS!
Are they the best? I mean are they better then Canon or Sony or other? Are there other brands like RED that solely make camcorders? I am trying to make professional movies and documentaries. Are they HD? Plus I am confused with all the different lenses that they have do I need them all?
