I want a camera/camcorder that I can use primarily to upload to Youtube. I’m looking for something…
1. GOOD IMAGE AND SOUND QUALITY! not like professional, but as close as you can get without going over about $150, which I know isn’t a lot.
**this includes not including a TON of background noise as well as being blurry/going in slow when the camera is being quickly moved around
2. easy to use, edit, and upload to Youtube
3. is compatible with Youtube and most common editing software (Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker, ect.)
4. Can be brought outside without the wind making a huge racket
5. try to go below about $200
So, what do you think of the Flip Cameras? Yes or no? Which one? If not, what other camera would you suggest I get?

I’m what you call a starter videographer–still learning the craft but knowledgeable enough to get jobs. Currently I have a job lined up for the summer filming a promo video for a small company. The CEO has given me a budget of $1200 with which to buy a new camera (somehow my little $120 sony camcorder just doesn’t cut it), so I’m shopping around. All I can say is thank goodness for ebay!
These are a few results from my search. All seem to come from reputable sellers and include a ton of extras! My preference is towards the panasonic AG -DVX100b because I have experience using that model, but I’d like an outside opinion. For a professional camera, which is the best one to buy?

I have an old JVC camcorder and I set out to make a short film, upon finishing when I uploaded to Adobe premiere, I selected the best format, the DV 24fph format. So, when I view it on a bigger screen, there are all these lines and pixels and poor quality that makes it look like someone enlarged a youtube video with the TV screen on to the big screen. I was told that DV camcorders can’t produce HD quality footage when uploading to PC, so is there no way to have DV camcoreders footage to look like it was HD?
Can i shoot the entire film in my old Camcorder and then borrow a professional HD camera from somewhere and use the tape with the camcorder footage and upload to my pc through the HD camera? Or will the footage and quality remain the same no matter what kind of camera I upload it from because it was shot on my old JVC camera?
I need help…
I’ve tried it on Sony Vegas and I have the IEEE 1394 Firewire USB port, but it’s not working. Maybe I’m choosing wrong formats. I need help, step by step help. I’d really appreciate it, thanks

Now almost anyone can get a great quality video camera for cheap and shoot professional-looking short films. It may not be Panavision but technology continues to improve and before you know it they’ll make cheap video cameras with that quality that anyone can use!

I’m looking for good quality in video and picture. It also needs to have a good battery life and also have easy to use software. I’m not looking for anything super professional just trying to do some possible youtube videos and social events like bbq’s and parties.

I know I prefer seeing film grain to pixelation aesthetically, but is low quality video still a long cry away from low quality film? I am talking about consumer grade cameras that are somewhere around 1 megapixel, not HD professional video…

I was wondering how MiniDV camcorders work when it comes to transferring footage to PC.. how long does it take? does it transfer a lot faster then the play time? Iike how long does it take per minute does it run the tape in like a FF to transfer or what? Also.. how do the clips go in does it separate each clip into it’s own file somehow or is it all one big video so u have to cut all the videos on the computer or what? I’ve only used SD and HDD I’ve never used MiniDV so Idk how they work.. I was looking at professional camcorders but they’re all MiniDV! like the Canon XH-A1 HD & Canon XL2.. how do they do it? I would think they’d all want hard disk and what would be the advantage of using tapes? plz help thx!

is there anyway to do a rack focus on non-professional camcorders like
Panasonic SDR-H80? it has manual focus controls. i heard that only pro camcorders can do it, i only have a handycam, but i really wanted to do it. so i wish to find a way to do it.
also, i am wondering if non- professional camcorders is able to make a shallow depth of field? if yes, how do i do it?
thanks alot

I am looking for a camcorder that I can film family videos with. Nothing too professional. I would like one that has effects like black & white, sepia, ect… Any suggestions?
Also, Is it worth splurging on one that is HD? are they that much better, even if you dont have an HD TV to watch them on?
