Should I save up My Money to Get A Nice professional Camera (Like Mitchell Davis has) Or get a Professional Camcorder? Which one?
Hi. I currently own this video camera ( http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panasonic-SDR-H60-Hard-Drive-SD-Card-Camcorder-Silver-SDRH60/sem/rpsm/oid/204258/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do ) and have been unsatisfied lately due to low quality and very, very low battery life.
I’ve been looking around at more professional cameras and have found that this one ( http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11038608 ) looked pretty good, but it has no night filming feature, which I’d like to have.
As you can probably already see, I’m not afriad to spend a good bit of cash, as long as the camera is worth the money.
I’m not too picky with the type, like MiniDV, HD, or SD, but the one that I currently have is SD, and I’m not too familiar with MiniDV or HD, so I’m not sure which one works best.
Also, I really like the Sony Handycam products because of the quality etc. But, I’m willing to look into other brands if they are just as good or better.

Hi,
I am wanting to buy a professional video camera for making shortish films (maybe maximum 1 hour) by myself and one or two other people to help me when I go out filming.
Can any experts advise what kind of video camera I should buy, bearing in mind that I have got experience with a cheap home camcorder and am wanting good definition, colour and clarity and something which is under £1500.
Thank you very much.
Camcorders range from $300 to $3000. I need a to film clips for email and the web. It needs to be somewhat professional but I’m not filming wedding videos or anything. Most importantly it must be user friendly, durable and travel well. Please tell me some of the major differences between the expensive and less expensive camcorders.
I’m looking for a 3 CCD professional “camcorder” for making films/movies. But, there are just too many. I’ve been told that the Canon xl2, xl1(xls1), XH A1, and XH G1 are the best, but then I hear about JVC. I’m looking for something that’s easy to use, and easy to learn. Help?
I have been filmmaking for 10 years and need a new camcorder. I have never had any professional equipment, just the basics. But now I need a new camera. I want one that is good for making short films, but also portable enough for general use. It must also be easy to transfer the video to computer for editing. Preferred price: under $3000. But please share any thoughts you have. Thanks for the help!
I’m planning to do some online teaching videos and, if that goes well, possibly compile them all onto a DVD to sell.
What kind of camera would I need? I’m looking for something with a good picture (obviously not something that looks like it was shot with a home camcorder) but not one that’s astronomically expensive — I’m only an amateur with hopes of going professional. What’s something that will let me straddle the two?
