Im looking for a really good camcorder, who people have use in small professional businesses. I am starting a short movie, and I want to make it as professional as it can be. I have rarely any experience through filming, but I do know the basics. Also, Im looking for a camcorder, that is lower than $400, and able to carry around with him. Oh what are those mics above called? Thanks
I’m a writer and I think I can be a great director, but I am just not familiar with the equipment I need. Can someone tell me how much it cost to get the essential starting equipment to make my film at least look semi professional.
I want my work to look semi-professional, with as many optional manual features as possible (aperture, white balance, etc.).
The range of cameras out there is daunting, especially considering that, no matter which camera I look at, it seems to excel in certain areas and fail in others which are equally important for film use. For example, a camera with great visual quality that doesn’t port to PC well for editing and whatnot.
Any film students out there who’d like to recommend a certain camera?
Thanks!
I have to make a couple of short films for an upcoming project. I want them to look professional and am in need of a new camera. However, my budget is tight. Any ideas on a good camera to buy for that purpose. These will not be uTube and whatnot. They will be shown to an audience in a small theatre of sorts.
I have bought a Sony HDD camcorder, and now would like to put movies on my website. I do not want to use YouTube, I want them to be hosted on my own site. What is the best, or easiest, way to do this?
I have professional web hoss already with LAMP set up etc.
Then transferring it to 16 or 35mm, etc. Has anyone out there tried this, I know it’s getting more popular for low budget producers like myself.!

I have a Canon DC210 camcorder which uses a DVD to record all of its footage. How do I put it on a computer and and edit it?(it always says failed to initialize, and the dvd is really small in size) can some1 tell me what fps it is (24 or 30 or whatever)? Can I convert my footage to 24p? Is my camcorder High-def?? Can I make a low budget film with it (maybe a 10 min film)? most important question: how do I give it that professional film look??
I really wanna know the answer to the last one.

I’m a film student in NYC who wants to shoot a short in an NYC subway station. I’m working VERY small scale - 2 actors and 3 crew members - with no equipment besides a professional digital camcorder. I’m working on a shoestring budget (approx. 10K), and would only need a few hours to obtain 5 or 6 minutes of footage. I have no other needs - I would just like the right to carry a professional camera in the station for a few hours without getting myself arrested. What steps do I need to take to earn the proper permit?

i am a novice filmmaker and will need a camera for film school eventually. i dont want a “family camcorder” i want a professional camcorder or film camera what do you suggest a small hd camera, a big fancy cannon camcorder or a 8, 16, or 35mm film camera?
Should I record audio on an external microphone? How do I make it so that if a character is saying something, and I cut half way through their sentence, they don’t have to say it again?
