Why I Loose My Video Quality When I Transfer Videos From Mini Dv Camcorder To Pc?

January 16th, 2010 admin 4 comments

I am transferring my videos from Canon Z60 mini DV camcorder using FIREWIRE 1394 port and Windows Movie Maker. When I watch the same video by connecting the camcorder directly to TV via AV port, the quality of videos is very good. But when I transfer the videos to my PC, using firewire port and windows movie maker, I just receive a resolution of 320×240 pixels. This is very poor resolution. Is their any other form of transferring the Videos from mini DV cassettes to PC, keeping the QUALITY of the videos? Will using any other professional Video software while transferring will help? Do somebody know which FORMAT windows movie maker save the video in? Is is MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 for anyother format?

How Do I Transfer Video From A Camcorder To My Pc And Then To You Tube?

December 25th, 2009 admin 4 comments

I know this is kind of a complex question for everybody, so I hope some of the experts out there can have the time and patience to help me on this.
I need advice to buy a camcorder that will allow me to transfer good quality video into my PC, and then to upload it to You Tube.
My PC doesn’t have any firewire ports; only USB, and it runs on Windows 2000 professional.
According to You Tube, the best format and settings are:
MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
320×240 resolution
MP3 audio
30 frames per second
So I need a USB compatible camcorder with capability to set the settings above.
Do USB camcorders come with software to transfer the video into a file on my computer? If not, what software do I need?
I’d appreciate your suggesting camcorder models that are easy to find anywhere for purchasing.
If USB isn’t the most appropriate interface, then please suggest me any firewire camcorders to do what I need, or any other interface/ports required, to record and upload the best video quality.

Where Can I Buy A Cheap Second Possibly Third Hand Professional Camcorder From?

October 13th, 2009 admin 4 comments

I do not have a lot of money but I desperately need a professional camcorder for a low budget film that I am currently making. It does need to be of good quality and possibly in HD, but does anyone know where I can buy REALLY cheap ones? I don’t care if they are second, third or even fourth hand, I just need one now!
